THE ARIA BRACELET – FREE CROCHET TUTORIAL
I remember storing these jewelry toggle clasps in my craft drawer after some epic fails. But for some reason I have been day dreaming of this bracelet for days using them! I wanted something simple yet so beautiful to wear everyday. They can also be made with some beautiful toggle clasps available at craft stores! They make a wonderful gift for any occasion and the fun part is that you can whip up a few in an hour! Teacher gifts, birthdays, sisters, daughters and mom gifts!
It is so comfortable to wear, I almost forgot I had it on! The cotton thread used is very thin but don’t let that shy you away form it! I hope you give this a try!
- 1.50 mm crochet hook
- Red Heart Bamboo Crochet Thread in Coral
- Toggle Clasps – I got mine from Amazon HERE. You can also find them easily at your nearest craft store and Walmart.
- yarn needle
CH – chain
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet
st(s) – stitch(s)
Sk – skip
FO – fasten off
Sl st – slip stitch
- Chain 3 does count as a stitch.
After you measured your wrist, subtract .5 inches to that. This will be the length you measure starting from Row 5. The yarn will have some stretch so it will still have some movement.
My wrist measured 6″ so from Row 5 I started measuring until I reached 5.5″.
- Sl st in the bar side bracelet hole, CH 1, turn. and make 8 SC. CH 1, turn.
Row 1 – SC across. CH 1, turn.
Row 2 – SC across. CH 1, turn.
Row 3 – SC across. CH 3, turn.
Row 4 – 2DC in the second st, sk the next st, 2DC in the next, sk the next stitch, 2DC in the next, sk the next st, DC in the last st. CH 3, turn.
Row 5 – *2DC in between the previous 2 double crochet stitches, Repeat from * 2 more times. DC in the last stitch (in the chain 3). CH 3, turn.
You will continue to work Row 5 until you reach your desired length (see measurements for sizing)
Once you reach your desired length,
- SC across 3x and fasten off leaving a long tail to sew on the loop part of the toggle clasp.
- Sew through each SC st 2x around. Weave to hide the FO knot and FO.
