The snuggle pup pattern is here and I am so grateful to continue making loved projects for my family and sharing them with you all! Today I bring you a new pattern that I made with my nephew in mind. He lives miles away and I don't get to see him as often as I would like. So I am sending a puppy for him to snuggle with and a heart on his chest to resemble the love we all have for him all the way from South Carolina.
YARN
For most amigurumi, I agree with most crocheters and prefer to work with cotton but there's nothing quite like using worsted acrylic as well. I like both and in my opinion, this brand holds up pretty well throughout the years. I chose to work with the Red Heart super saver I purchased at my local Michael's. They almost always have sales and the skeins are so inexpensive and still good quality for amigurumi. You can use any brand you would like. I think Hobby Lobby I Love this Yarn is also my top favorites. Just keep in mind that if you do change the size of the yarn it will affect the final size of the pup but if that's what you are going for then, cool. I think I may do that as well!
You can send a cute card if you make this as a gift for Valentine's day that says, I woff you, You are PAW-sitively the best. hehehe

Read Before beginning
- STITCH MARKER - You will be working in rounds so keep a stitch marker close to use when working up the doll. Unless otherwise stated to CH and turn.
- I will have photos available here to help you through what I think may need a visual.
- TENSION - Make sure you use a tight enough tension to help close any "holes" a loose tension may cause. I crochet yarning under to create a tighter look at the amigurumi.
- *Measures approximately 15 inches tall. *different yarn weights will alter the size.
- ASSEMBLY - The amigurumi will start with making both legs which then you will join together and work up the body. Followed by two arms that are sewn on the body. The head is made and all features are assembled before attaching to the body.
- SEWING - For all pieces that require sewing, I prefer using the seamless join.
- ATTACHING OPEN PIECE (BODY)TO A CLOSED PIECE (HEAD) - After the ears and all the facial features are sewn on. Go ahead and sew the head to the body using a seamless join. Don't tighten too much in case you need to go back and undo it, The reason for having the face finished is to help center the head to the body. After I did my first round of joining, I went another second turn to secure and make adjustments. If the head is still a little too wobbly ( a little is ok) try going up a row higher on the head to help with that. Pull to hide stitches and secure with a knot.

JOINING
Both of the pieces have a total of 12 sts each. After SC around both, you will have a total of 24 sts.
Beginning the first round of the body:
I like to place the stitch marker (a piece of yarn) laid where the first st will become.
You can absolutely join the FIRST piece in any space but I like to join on the last stitch made to keep better track of where my stitches are.
