Izzy the Bear started out as a sketch first. I wanted to design a doll that young children could easily stand up during play so I made this crochet pattern of a bear featuring a flat bottom.
Izzy is unbearably cute with her dainty bow and a dainty pocket on the front of her dress. The tutu was an idea that I had but it didn't make the cut so I gave her a dress instead. I used embroidery floss for the eyes, nose, bow, and pocket. The body is made using Caron Simply Soft yarn and the dress is Bernat Baby Cotton yarn.
Izzy is worked up in rounds which means that you'll want to use stitch markers to help keep your place while you work. There are commercial stitch markers that you can buy but personally I prefer to use a piece of contrasting yarn instead.
I hope you love her as much as I do and if you make Izzy the Bear please do not forget to tag me on social media @arianaehall! I would love to see your creation!
