This stitch is used for market bags or in different headwear using the front post and back post method. The written instructions for a treble crochet stitch is as follows. Step by step.
yarn over your hook twice, then insert the hook through a stitch, yarn over your hook once again, pull through the stitch which now you should have 4 loops on your hook, yarn over pull through two loops, yarn over and pull through two loops, yarn over and pull through the last two loops on your hook.
And that is your treble crochet stitch in written form.
One thing I would not use this stitch for is baby blankets because this stitch creates a larger opening than single crochet and double crochet stitches, and their little fingers and toes may get stuck. Just keep that in mind when making for baby's
When working the treble crochet in rows, you will chain 4 at the beginning of each row to match the height of the treble crochet stitch. This is an update I have not made in the video but the stitch is still accurate and gives you a visual of the treble stitch.
